Frequently Asked Questions (Lashes)

ARE LASH EXTENSIONS BAD FOR MY NATURAL LASHES?

No.  As long as you’re not pulling or rubbing them, as this can cause your natural lashes to fall out, and may give you sparse lashes. With proper care lash extensions are not bad for your natural lashes. If you feel you need take your lashes off, please contact us to have your them removed. 

 

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY LASH APPOINTMENT?

If you are a new client we ask that you arrive 10 minutes early, with no eye make up and/or no mascara on.  All creams and lotions should be avoided (on the eyes) before your appts and while you have lashes on.  Please do not perm or curl your lashes prior to your appointment.  It is best to not have a caffeinated drink before your appts as this can make you jittery 

Please note that if you're coming from work and need to wash your eye makeup, it is imperative that you arrive on time for your lash appointment.  A designated lash cleanser will be provided for you to wash and prep your lashes.  Any time lost from your "cleansing" will not be made up as we cannot over-run your appointment into the next client's time.  For best results, it is always recommended that you cleanse before you come.

HOW DO I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

To book your appointment(s) If it’s your first appointment with us, we have all our new clients book online first to create a profile. Going forward you can book online or with us.  We highly recommend booking a few appts at a time, to ensure you get preferred date and time slot you are looking for.  If you are wanting to book for your wedding/prom season, etc.) it is best to pre-book your appointments as all bookings are first-come-first-serve

 

HOW LONG WILL MY APPOINTMENT BE?

The time will depend on what service you are receiving. Appointments are as short as 30 minutes to 3 1/2 hours. When scheduling your appointment, the specific times can be found when booking your service. 

  

HOW ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS APPLIED TO MY EYELASHES?

Eyelash extensions are applied using very fine tweezers, isolating a single natural lash and applying adhesive.

 

HOW LONG DO LASH EXTENSIONS LAST?

Eyelash extensions will last up to 1 month with proper care, however you will need to come in for fills every 2-3 weeks, some people will be able to come every 3-4 weeks. This really depends on how well you take care of your lashes, as well as your lash cycle as each person is different. Please be reminded: you will need to have 40% of your lash extensions (per eye) to be able to get a fill. After that you will need to book in for a full set. 

Lash extensions don’t require too much fuss, we will give you a lash brush after your appointment, so you can brush them when needed, usually in the morning and at night.

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT REFILLING MY LASHES?

Your natural lashes continue to grow and shed daily, you lose 2-5 natural lashes a day. If you are waiting to maintain your false lashes, we suggest you return within 3 weeks to keep them looking full and beautiful.  We have 3 different options for lash fills.  You must have at lest 40% of your set for it to be a  “fill” We will remove any extensions that have grown out, and replace those that have naturally shed.  If you do not wish to maintain your lashes, then either return for a removal or let them fall out naturally.  Never attempt to remove them yourself.

We do not refill the work of others.  This means that if you come to your appointment with a set of lashes from another Lash Technician, we will have to remove the old set of lashes and put on a new set.  Therefore, you will be charged the price of a full set.  This is to ensure we protect the integrity of our work.

 

WHAT ARE YOUR EYELASH AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS?

  • Clean your extensions daily with non-oily makeup removers or cleansers formulated for use with eyelash extensions.
  • Avoid rubbing, pulling, or tugging on your eyelashes.
  • Sleep on your back or side to avoid crushing lashes.
  • Use oil-free products only. No mascara, only pencil or powder eyeliner.
  • Please use a trained Lash Technician to have them removed.
  • Touch-ups are recommended within 3 weeks to maintain the fuller look.

 The first 48 hours is the most important part of your aftercare, this is when the adhesive is still going through the curing process

Please avoid:

  • Hot tubs
  • Saunas

  • Baths

  • Working out

  • Sweating 
In the colder temperatures, please avoid long exposure outside within the first 48 hours in any temperature below 0 degrees as this could cause your lashes to flash freeze and therefore fall off. 

It is common to lose between 2-5 extensions per eye every day.  Your extensions will shed with your natural lashes and this is what you want to see as your lashes are going through a healthy lash cycle.  

 

I HAVE VERY LIGHT COLORED EYELASHES; CAN I STILL GET LASH EXTENSIONS?

Yes. All colours of lashes can have extensions applied.

 

I HAVE A PICTURE OF LASHES I WOULD LIKE, CAN YOU MAKE THEM LOOK THE SAME?

We can do our very best to provide you with a style and look you would like, but we can only work with the lashes you have and every set of lashes are customized specifically to your own lashes. No two eye lash extensions will ever be the same, and many factors depend on the finished look of your lashes. Please note: I will not work over other lash artists work. If you would like to have them removed please book in for a lash removal and a full set on the same appointment. (This will not harm your lashes)

 

WHAT ARE YOUR POLICIES?

CANCELLATION: We require 24 hours' notice if you have to cancel your appointment. If you need to cancel on the same day, you will be charged a late cancellation fee of 50% of the scheduled service as well as a $3 processing fee. If you are cancelling after the 24 hour mark please contact the Spa directly via email at erika@yourspasolutions.ca, our late cancellation fee still applies.  Prior E-transfers for your appointment date are non-refundable.

 

LATENESS: Arriving on time is crucial to optimize all time available for your appointment. Please notify us by text or call if you are going to be between 5-15minutes late. After a late arrival of 15 minutes the appointment will need to be rescheduled and a 50% charge will be applied to your credit card. All 30 minute appointments will need to be rescheduled after 5 minutes of being late. If I am not notified within 15 minutes of our scheduled appointment time your service will be cancelled and you will be charged 50% and noted as a no show and you will need to contact Your Spa Solutions directly and pay in full for your next appointment. Please respect my time as well as our other clients’ time and show up at your scheduled appointment time.

 

PAYMENT METHODS:  Cash, EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer / e-Transfer), Debit, Visa, Mastercard, & AMEX.  Prices are in CAD and do not include HST.  Applicable taxes will be added.

 

REFUND:  All beauty services and training are a final sale and NON-REFUNDABLE.  However, client satisfaction is our number one priority.  Please let us know and we will do our best to make it right.  We truly value your business.
